Pickleball Director

An avid player since 2019 before the explosion of pickleball beginning with the pandemic, Mario realized his true passion when pickleball kept so many people active and mentally healthy during the arduous pandemic, that he knew he needed to become more engaged to spread the joy of this sport (that gave him so much) to others. He has used this fire since then to start up the first Pickleball Burn classes at HSHF in 2021 and really come to know the community.

While teaching is not his true passion, he became an active promoter of the club and helped facilitate many leagues from 2022 to 2024. Mario became a Director in April 2024 to solidify a larger role in growing the sport and providing opportunities for players to engage in fun and competitive offerings at HSHF with the goal of fostering a community that truly cares for one another. You can always find him on the GroupMe app, updating players with the latest and greatest in the pickleball world and setting up fun events that engage the community, or out on the courts playing a few games.

Whether recreational play, leagues, tournaments, or even holiday events, Mario is always looking to improve our club. There is no feedback that he doesn’t want to hear, because sometimes it takes the worst feedback to know there is a problem and develop a plan to fix it.

Mario previously served 14 years in the United States Navy, which helped him gain and sharpen the leadership skills and compassion needed to care for a player-base of over 150 players, as well as taking ownership and pride in our facility and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. His mantra to live by is taken from the great Jackie Moon: Everybody Love Everybody.
